Don’t break

The booking wasn’t lost to a competitor. It was lost in your inbox.

A client asks about June while you’re on a shoot. You reply that night. They ask about a different Saturday. By the time you’ve checked, they’ve booked someone who answered first.

One photographer’s week

  1. Tue9:14am“Hi! Do you have anything in June?”
  2. Tue10:40pmYou reply with three dates, after the shoot
  3. Wed7:02am“Could the 14th work instead?”

Take a break · Your client’s side

Three steps. No emails in any of them.

  1. 01Pick a time

    Your packages, your open slots.

They choose a package and a date, and see only the times you’re free. Times in golden hour carry a small copper mark.

    No account needed

  2. 02Their details

    Name, email, phone, place.

If the session is somewhere else, they type the address and any travel fee shows before they pay.

  3. 03Pay to confirm

    Booked, and paid.

They pay in full, or split it into three with ShotBreak Pay, and land on a confirmation page written by you.

Your hours, your rules

Set your week once. The calendar keeps it.

Open the days and hours you shoot. Add time before and after each session for travel and wrap-up. Booked times and their buffers drop off the calendar for everyone else.

  • Hours per day

Weekdays nine to five, Saturdays until noon, Sundays off.

  • Time before and after

Prep and travel before a session, wrap-up after it.

  • Start times

A session can start every 15, 30 or 60 minutes. You pick.

  • Booked means gone

Once a time is booked, nobody else can pick it.

  • Travel set once

A free radius, then your fee. Past your range, they send you a message instead.

  • Inquiry-only packages

For the shoots you’d rather talk through first, show a message button instead of a calendar.

Get your break · After the booking

The booking is where the job starts.

One booking, start to finishSample client
  1. Session

    It’s on your calendar.

The booking becomes a session in ShotBreak, with the client, the date and the package.

  2. Contact and invoice

    Nothing typed twice.

Your client is added to your contacts, and what they paid is already on an invoice.

  3. Shoot day

    The forecast.

For US shoots, a forecast from a week out, with backup spots nearby if it turns.

    Weather Intelligence
  4. Delivery

    Then the gallery.

When the photos are ready, the gallery goes out from the same place.

Questions

Before you
start.

No. They pick a time, enter their details and pay. No sign-up, no password.

Connect Stripe once. Clients pay when they book, in full or in three payments with ShotBreak Pay on plans that include it. The money goes to your own Stripe account.

Yes. Add time before and after each session for travel and wrap-up, and those minutes come off the calendar automatically.

From the date and the location. Times that fall in the morning or evening golden window get a small mark, so your client can choose the good light without knowing what golden hour is.

You set a free radius and a fee beyond it. The fee shows before they pay. Past your range, they’re asked to send you a message instead, so you can quote it yourself.

How travel fees work

Your studio’s. Set it once, and your hours, the time around each session and every open slot follow it.
